What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnosis is a natural state of mind which we all slip in and out of regularly. Most likened to the deep body and mind relaxation stage just before you fall asleep, the hypnotic phase is an altered state of consciousness in which it is possible to communicate directly with the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is the part of our mind that influences our thoughts, actions, behaviours and emotions. It is the part of our mind that knows what is best for us right now. Hypnotherapy works by allowing you and the therapist to communicate directly with your subconscious mind, offer and accept positive suggestions to bringing about well being and equilibrium, resulting in the changes that you want to make. Hypnosis is a naturally occurring state of awareness, somewhat like being in a pleasant day dream and is a state that we all slip into and out of throughout the day. Hypnotherapy works by harnessing this state of mind to help to you make changes in a comfortable and natural way.

How will Hypnotherapy help me?

Hypnotherapy works by allowing you to relax and unwind so completely that you are able to 'switch off' you conscious mind, whilst still listening and being fully alert with your sub-conscious mind. It is the subconscious mind that controls our thoughts, emotions and behaviours. When we learn a behaviour or habit or emotional attachment, this learning is absorbed by our subconscious mind. Hypnotherapy, through deep relaxation, allows you to access this part of your mind and alter the way you think of things, and therefore alter your behaviour and change your habits to your advantage. The changes are long lasting and beneficial to you because they are made at such a deep level within yourself.

After carrying out a thorough consultation, we are able to tailor a package of treatments specifically for you, enabling you to get the most from your sessions. We do not charge for consultation time.
